Services · The work behind the answer

The work behind being the name AI recommends.

Four services on one retainer. Most clients run all four because they compound; a few start on one or two when the situation calls for it. No annual contracts. No setup fees. Cancel by email.

01 · The short version

What is AEO, really?

Answer Engine Optimization — AEO — is how you get recommended by AI chatbots. When someone asks ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Claude, or Gemini "who's the best roofer near me," the AI gives them an answer. Sometimes one name. Sometimes two or three. Almost never a list of ten.

Our work is making sure the name is yours. We build the signals AI models use to decide who they trust enough to mention — then we keep those signals in shape as the models change.

Traditional SEO gets your website listed. AEO gets your business named.

SEO and AEO aren't enemies. Most of what we build — consistent business data, structured content, clear answers to buyer questions — helps both. The surfaces are different and the signals each rewards are different. We focus on the AI chatbot surface because almost nobody else is.

02 · The four tracks

The stack.

01

Foundation

The basics done correctly, once, so the rest of the work has something to stand on.

Most local businesses are invisible to AI chatbots because their core data is inconsistent — the name, address, services, and hours don't match across the web. We rebuild your Google Business Profile, fix citation inconsistencies across the directories AI models actually read, and add structured data to your site so machines can parse you cleanly. One canonical record of your business, deployed everywhere it matters.

Deliverables
  • Google Business Profile audit and rebuild — categories, services, attributes, hours, photos, Q&A
  • Citation cleanup across the directory set the AI models actually weight
  • Schema.org structured data deployed on every page of your site
  • Duplicate listings resolved, unclaimed profiles claimed, NAP mismatches fixed
  • A single canonical record of your business so every future change has one source of truth
First 90 days
Day 30

Foundation audit document, GBP rebuilt, structured data deployed on core pages.

Day 60

Citation cleanup completed across the priority directory set; duplicates resolved.

Day 90

Monitoring in place; foundation moves into maintenance mode.

02

Visibility

Tracking where AI models cite you today and rebuilding the pages that should be cited tomorrow.

AI chatbots quote pages that read like answers. We build a prompt set of the questions your real customers ask, run it weekly across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overview, and identify the structural reasons your competitors get cited and you don't. Then we rewrite or build the pages that fix the gap — question-led headings, self-contained answers, retrievable shape.

Deliverables
  • A prompt set of 40–200 buyer-intent questions tailored to your business
  • Weekly tracking across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overview
  • Citation share report — your share vs. three named competitors, by model
  • Rewrites or net-new pages designed for direct-answer retrieval
  • A monthly content roadmap that responds to citation movement
First 90 days
Day 30

Prompt set finalized; baseline citation report delivered.

Day 60

First batch of rebuilt or net-new pages live; second baseline run shows initial movement.

Day 90

Content roadmap for months 4–6 delivered; citation share trending against named competitors.

03

Authority

The off-site signals that tell models you are a real, trusted business, not a thin profile.

Reviews, earned mentions, and third-party citations are how AI models verify a business is real. We build a review velocity system, pursue editorial mentions on the sites your category's models already trust, and track sentiment of mentions — not just count. The work coordinates with whatever PR or community work you already do.

Deliverables
  • Review velocity system — request cadence, response templates, recovery on negative reviews
  • Earned mentions on third-party sites the AI models weight (industry directories, local press, association pages)
  • Founder or business profile maintained on the platforms models read
  • Sentiment tracking of mentions, not just count
  • A quarterly outreach plan tied to your business calendar
First 90 days
Day 30

Review system deployed; baseline review velocity measured.

Day 60

First earned mentions placed or in motion; sentiment baseline established.

Day 90

Authority dashboard added to monthly report; quarterly outreach plan delivered.

04

Operations

The recurring work that keeps the first three services honest as the models shift.

ChatGPT releases a new model. Google updates AI Overviews. Perplexity changes its citation logic. The work above only stays effective if someone is watching, adjusting, and reporting. Operations is that someone — a senior practitioner running the prompt set monthly, responding to model behavior changes, and writing the report that goes to your inbox each month.

Deliverables
  • Monthly prompt-set run and citation report delivered to your inbox
  • Tactical response when models or surfaces update
  • Ongoing content and schema refresh
  • Quarterly written strategy review
  • Direct email channel with your senior strategist
First 90 days
Day 30

First monthly report delivered.

Day 60

Second report shows movement against baseline; first tactical adjustment cycle complete.

Day 90

Quarter-one review delivered; roadmap for the next 90 days agreed.

03 · What's not included

We are not a full-service agency.

Drawing the line clearly is part of the deal. If half of what you want is on this list, we are the wrong agency, and a 15-minute email exchange will save us both a quarter.

  • Paid ads No Google Ads, no Meta, no LSAs. If you need that, we'll recommend someone.
  • Website redesigns We'll fix specific pages and add structured data. We will not rebuild your site.
  • Outbound sales lead-gen No cold email, no list buying, no SDR work.
  • Generic SEO churn No 30-blog-posts-a-month content mills, no link buying, no keyword-stuffed location pages.
  • Reputation laundering We don't bury legitimate negative reviews or manufacture fake ones.
04 · Fit

Who this is — and isn't — for.

This is for you if
  • You run a home service business or local professional practice between roughly $500K and $10M in revenue.
  • You already get business from search and want to stay there as search changes.
  • You want to understand what you are paying for and ask hard questions about it.
  • You are patient enough to judge the work on a quarter, not a week.
  • Your service quality is genuinely good — AEO amplifies what is already true about you.
This is not for you if
  • You are chasing pure volume — we are optimizing for the right calls, not the most calls.
  • You need leads next week — this is a 90-day-minimum compounding play.
  • You want a single dashboard with a green up-arrow and no conversation.
  • You are looking for someone to manage every channel — we run four services, not forty.
  • Your reviews and reputation problems are real and not yet addressed — fix the business first, then call us.

We'd rather lose a fit conversation than win a misfit one.

05 · Measurement

What we measure, and what we ignore.

If a metric doesn't connect to "is the right customer hearing your name from the AI they trust," we don't put it in the report.

What we measure
  • AI citation share — across your prompt set, what percentage of answers name you, by model
  • Prompt coverage — how many of the prompts that should surface you actually do
  • Sentiment of mentions — when you are cited, how are you described
  • Competitive mention gap — your share vs. the three to five competitors we track with you
  • Foundation health — citation consistency, GBP completeness, structured-data coverage
  • Review velocity and rating trajectory — not just the star count, the slope
What we ignore as primary metrics
  • Keyword rankings on traditional SERPs — useful context, not the scoreboard
  • Raw traffic volume — a thousand wrong visitors is worse than fifty right ones
  • Follower counts and social engagement — not what we are hired for
  • Domain authority scores from third-party tools — proxy metrics, not outcomes
  • Number of blog posts published — output is not a measurement
